hello all,
thank you for your response.
to address all your queries ---
firstly the mellotron was used on the road in both my band and the
subsequent owners band in and around the north of England/Sheffield etc.
as far as I was aware melltorons were finished with the wood carcass
painted/sprayed white not covered in melamine.
this is certainly the case with this model as it was covered in the stuff
whilst in my ownership.
melamine is a thin plastic like veneer applied to all sorts of products as a
hard wearing protective finish.
the machine had the normal standard flutes/violin/cello tape rack and also
choirs and something else on a spare rack.
I do not know the serial number unfortunately.
It was bought from me by a chap nicknamed Horse (drummer) and used in his
progressive rock band in Doncaster.around 1980 ish.
it had a home made white padded cover fluted at the front.
thanks for your help.
If streetly are reading this further to my enquiries a few months ago I am
still searching for this particular machine which is of sentimental
importance to me - can you help?
Steve Davis
