While I'm on a roll; I don't know if this is the same for MKII owners
but when removing the front control panel on an M300 there 2
things you need to look out for. Firstly, do make sure the mains
lead is unplugged because the left hand black octal plug supplies
mains current to the main power switch and this plug is MALE! I've
had the entire national grid up my arm on a couple of occations
now so it's very easy to do. Also the cable connections to the
station selector switches are supported by nothing other than their
solder and the wiring looms and plugs flop about when you remove
the panel. These solder connections are prone to breaking off
leaving you with a headache determining which of the many solder
posts they came from and then soldering them back on quickly
enough so the insides of the switches don't fall apart on you. So
support the cables/plugs with your fingers when you remove the
control panel!
