Dear Mellotronists!
My name is David Cox. I am new to the group and in a nutshell I'm a teacher (CCSF and SFSU) and a film maker who writes & records music. I also write for a number of publications including OTAKU USA and Otherzine.
I also help out with a small 'microcinema' in San
Francisco which has been operating for over 25 years called "Other
Cinema" - here is the site for the cinema - its based at a small gallery called ATA:
http://www.othercinema.comOther Cinema typically shows offbeat, underground and experimental work, and is not just a screening venue, but a genuine local community with contacts all around the world in the field of experimental and underground movie making.
Other Cinema's front man film maker Craig Baldwin are planning
a film screening of the film "Mellodrama" about the mellotron
and was wondering if folks might be able to advise on where we might locate a working mellotron to help attract people to the screening?
Whoever would bring the 'tron could play it, open it up for the crowd to look at and so on. This would be later this year, between August and December.
Here is a link to the "Mellodrama" website, which I'm sure members of this list already know about:
