Thanks, Jeff. I think I can use it as KOMPAKT reads AKAI 1000/3000
samples.

Actually, KOMPAKT is/was (NI doesn't market it anymore) a
standalone/plug-in sampler, much like a poor man's Kontakt. I bought
it and INTAKT separately, and the two pretty much make-up one Kontakt
(almost). KOMPAKT strictly samples, and INTAKT time/pitch-stretches
and syncs.
