Is there a good method
for that or should I just pull the tapes out, toss them into the corner
and try to sort them all out later?
Before removing them mark the start points (where the head is when at rest, chinagraph pencil is good) then in order use splicing tape to attach the tail of each tape the head of the next. I have seen frames where the tapes are numbered but that seems a bit over the top if putting them on a reel in order of removal. As for tape reels your local angling shop may be able to help as the tape is a non standard width and some of the reels used for fishing line is ideal. Be methodical and patient. Replacement is the reverse of fitting.
