Yes, that's the one I have and it's a bit of a pain to get it to work consistently all the time.

Also - I'm thinking that the cello sound and background noise I referred to are probably the same sound - the background noise being played at a slightly higher pitch with different tone. I've tried a few things recently that seem to suggest this. My apologies if this was confusing.

Some other interesting Gizmo tracks:

10CC - Old Wild Men
McCartney - I'm Carrying

There's more but that's in OT territory.

Regarding the mention of playing mellotron samples solo and having it sound week - this is my complaint about the tron sounds I've heard specifically in modern synths. An embarrassment to say the least.

If the so-called engineers who made these sounds spent any time playing the instrument and getting to know it instead of just hiring them in and doing the job quickly, it might make a difference.

And of course, theyre using the Gizmotron for the cello sound and background noise as well.

The Gizmotron, what a great idea. Shame the production version didn't live up to the original prototype. I actually got to play the original once and that worked really well, all handcrafted and metal bits. Sadly the production version was plastic.
