built and warehoused these and as orders came in they picked a unit
at random? Mine has Streetly Mfg sticker on back panel and round 3
prong British Standard power cord. Did the SS versions also come
wired with same plug and markings? The tapes in my former 459 were
marked BBS and were choir/violins/ flute and 703s' were not marked at
all and had cello instead. Also the BBS set was on a grayish tape
and the other on brown. From any articles I've read on SS I was
under the assumption that the 400's were all manufactured in England
and SS acted as an agent here in US?? Maybe other original owners
could help to clarify?....
Also take into count that some units were sold through music equipment outlets and could have been an stock for a period of time.
