Music for me has always been a question of melodic invention, some drama and the sense of passion in what I am listening to.  I have listened to an awful lot in my life and the road this discussion is going is so utterly futile and pointless that I wonder why I am even bothering to contribute.  If the bright young thing that has joined the list wants to opinionate then let his blatherings ring forth and bore the assembles masses, for that's all they achieve.

Whatever makes music work for you is whatever makes music work for you.  It is not transferable, correct or definitive.  It just is. Long reign the enigma.
