Not all "blues" has the same old 4 chord repetition for example early
STONES, Humble Pie, Ten Years After, etc did some fine renditions of
early blues work. One of my favorites is Harvey Mandel..who? If you
can find it give a listen to Charley Musselwhite's first lp "Stand
Back" (Vanguard 1966) with Barry Goldberg on keys and Harvey Mandel on
guitar and Harvey's first solo lp "Christo Redentor" I actually got
to see these guys in Chicago in a bar on Wabash Ave back in late 60's
and personally I don't think Stevie Ray comes close. If you like I
have posted a couple of cuts on Limewire along with some of my TRON
stuff. How about Rory Gallagher? ---Doug
