CHECK OUT KINGCRIMSON AT FILLMORE WEST
LAST CONCERT
WITH ORIGINALLINE-UP
A note: Some of this material is available on the DGM album"Epitaph", but it sure doesn't sound the same! Well worth a listen, especially in light of the current list discussions. Now here is some mellotronthat will make your hair stand on end! If you ever wanted to know exactly whatIan played on mellotron for "Epitaph", here's your chance. (Anddoesn't the 60 cycle hum from the amps take you back?)
It's also interesting to compare the use of mellotron by KC's originalline-up with Pinder's use. The difference couldn't be more apparent here. Sameinstrument, same tapes, but holy shit. Is it better? I don't know. That's up toyou to decide.
Hope you also enjoy Giles' drumming. I don't think there's any drummerwho is so wonderfully idiosync ratic -- or brilliant.
Cheers,
Rick
