Dear All,
The Emu Classic Keys does a reasonable M400 emulation if programmed properly.
However mine has gone to be replaced by a Vintage Keys, which is even better as it has proper filters in it although the raw flute sample does not seem as good. The Vintage Keys came first so some tidying up of some of the samples seems to have gone on between models.
Hot tip: The Vintage Keys Plus (or having the expansion fitted to a standard unit like mine) gives another bank of useful sounds including samples of Chamberlin violins. These are different samples from the bank 1 M400 3 violins even though we know that the sound source was originally the same. Seems like the original instruments may have been sampled giving the difference in sounds (the Chamberlin is more strident...).
The other sounds in the Vintage keys are also worth having especially as there is now a proper set of filters to put them through.
All the best,
Norm
