Subject: Korg Poly61 Battery Replacement

From: "spiral" <spiralout311@...>

Hi all! New to the forum and the Poly61 so please excuse my ignorance. I bought a Poly 61 and I've been reading about problems with corrosion due to battery leakage and I'm interested in replacing it once the unit comes in. Is this what I need?:

It's the 3.6 volt Ni-MH.

Syntaur also has this Lithium one:

But I want to do the least amount of soldering as possible b/c I have very little experience with it, and I don't even know what diode is.

This may also be a dumb question but are the tabs on the battery made of solder? or will I need to buy extra solder to mount the battery to the board? Also, Is the Ni-MH battery a one for one swap??

Hope this isn't confusing!

Thank you,
