Putting in test points, or at least making it possible to 
easily stick probes at the key points that would allow you 
to know what section of the circuit is unwell.

Also it's nice if you can avoid having to take a unit apart completely 
before getting at the PCB, and conversely it is nice if you can
easily operate it outside the box, without having to unsolder 
leads to panel bezels etc.

A butterfingers like me can do a suprising amount of 
damage by trying to get readings off chip legs & sliding 
across & shorting out to the next leg along.. sometimes 
that is fatal :-(
