Agree. Look under "terminology" to see:

V_DD    Most positive ps potential
V_SS    Most negative ps potential in dual supplies
V_L     Logic ps (5V)
GND     Ground (0V) reference

For single supplies you connect V_SS and GND to ground.  But for dual 
supplies, if you connect both to -Vps, then I believe you would have to 
refer the logic signal to there also.  (But you would also possibly violate 
the GND to ps limit, as others mentioned.)
