Having minor past 8 bit Assembler knowledge, as well as a fair bit of
programming knowledge in the Basic language - I've decided that I'd
like to design and build an interactive sequencer for my modular,
around a Pic or Stamp.
I have no experience with these, though, a fair bit of digital
electronics experiences over the years. Through my searches so far,
nothing has been too frightening, but I'm not sure which unit to
choose.
Is there any related info on this in an SDIY archive, somewhere?
Ultimately, I'd like to build a sequencer that can have it's step #;
directions; the actual pitches on each step (dual pitch / step, as my
current sequencer that I designed); etc., all programmable live. (I
can take care of the human interface side of it with switches / etc.,
easily enough.)
Any help on which units to look at (and where), as well as any past
info. from other's who've done, would be greatly appreciated. :)
I'd like to order a unit as soon as I can, to start learning it's
language and how to work with it / etc.
Also - would a Basic Stamp be able to function quickly enough for
driving a DAC (for actual CV Out), or should I stick with an Assembler
based unit? (Preferring NOT to go with a C / C++ unit. Far too rusty
in that language.)
Thanks for any help possible, from any and all. :)
