If you mean insulated but unshielded hookup wire,
some people think the best is the "pre-bonded" kind.
Here you have multistrand wire that is already tinned
and kind of stuck together. So it is incredibly easy to solder,
plus easy to poke into holes, plus the solder doesn't 'wick up'
and lead to the wire bending sharply at the solder/ no solder
discontinuity. You can get it from:
