I've done two cabinets. Tolex is real nice to work
with.
The most important feature of the glue you'll pick is
if you can reposition the panel after you lay it down.
That leaves out contact cement. The description of
the glue in your link sounds about right for the job.
I've been using 3M Spray 99. It's *almost* as good as
contact cement for bonding but you can reposition it.
You'll need to spray it on much heavier than you would
if you were to use it on paper. Make sure you have
enough on hand before you start.
A word to the wise: If you do use Spray 99, you might
find the edges will come loose after a few years. I
haven't done this but it might be a good idea to use
Spray 99 as usual to cover the cabinet with tolex then
peel back all the edges and let it dry until the
adhesive is totally dry. Then use contact cement to
lock down all the edges. No more curling up edges.
Also good surface prep is a good idea. I paint my
cabinets with flat black latex paint before I cover
them.
