[sdiy] preamp or other secret weapons for lo-fi ness a la BasicChannel/Deep Chord... broken filter like Pole?

My friend Peder Hedman, whose stage name was "Lord Fuzzy", used to
chop his shielded guitar cable into 10 to 12 pieces.
Then he would put it back together very poorly with rat tail splices,
no solder and masking tape.
He could add Lo-Fi effects by just moving the cord around.
RF pickup, intermittent noise, complete drop outs, crackling,
humming, buzzing...
Feedback could get really chaotic when audio vibrated the cord, like
touching the amp cabinet.
I kid you not.
Disclaimer: Please restrict use of this technique to UL Class 2
wiring with intrinsic power of less than 0.1 volt-ampere.
