[sdiy] preamp or other secret weapons for lo-fi ness a la Basic Channel/Deep Chord... broken filter like Pole?

Danjel,

One technique that some people use is run the sound source though a bandpass filter, run a noise source though a bandpass and then mix them together. I've heard it used quit a bit on voice. Good for robot voices, old time radio or phonograph (add some wow and flutter with a LFO in there somewhere). Sort of a simple vocoder.

If you can take seperate high pass and low pass filters to make your band pass filter. That gives you lots of options to control the width and Q of each filter.
