Agreed on all counts. Slides look better, are more readable and
feel better than thin toggle switches. Unfortunately, slides are a
bitch to mount on a panel (you need a rectangular hole and two
screws).
Also, with slides, panel thickness is more critical than it is
with toggles. Operating a slide switch that protrudes only a
couple millimeters from the panel is awkward if you have short
fingernails.
