[sdiy] This is possible a stupid question but ......

K. I've gotten down to the final portions for finishing the
sequencer. Setting up the Octave switch, for each of the 8 rotary
switches. I determined last night, that for proper tuning on my LM329
6.9V reference (now, used only. No more Constant Current Source) and
my rotaries having 121 ohms, per semi-tone that:
- I would have 1452 ohms, PER octave.
- With 1 octave (1452 ohms) worth of resistance at the bottom of the
resistor string
- 1331 ohms (11 x 121 ohms) around the rotary's 12 pitches in the string
- 1452 ohms for the 1 octave switch in the string
That I would have 5808 + 121 ohms, as the balance of the resistor
string from +7V to Ground, to evenly divide it for 1452 ohms per
octave.
NOW - I was scratching my head for well over an hour, trying to figure
out _HOW_ to switch the 1452 ohms for the +/- 1 octave, in and out!
(I'd originally done it by switch that resistance, OUT of the string.
After a few minutes being stumped, I finally realized that it always
HAS to be within that total string of resistance).
I can't for the life of me though - figure out how to set up the
switch, to change the location of the 1452 ohms, to BEFORE the rotary
or AFTER the rotary switch. (So that the 1452 ohms for the 1 octave
is always in the string).
I've got my 1st 2 rotaries now PERFECTLY tuned, to 1/12th of an octave
for each step. I'm going to do the other 6 rotaries, but had to stop
to wash dishes, before the GF gets home. ;) LOL
Could anyone please, please, please, tell me how to properly wire the
switch for +1 octave with that resistance? All of the locations of
each resistor string are being properly set up. I just need to know
how to properly wire the switch in. :)
(I'm HOPING that it's not a DPDT switch, as I'm OUT of them at the
moment. :( :( :( I only have DPST available right now.)
Thanks for any possible help on this! The closest clue that I've had
so far, is needing a DPDT because I THINK, I have to switch 2
positions in the string. (Essentially moving the 1452 ohms section to
before, or after the rotary).
