They are j-wire keyboards.  You could do a resistor ladder, but then you'd
need trigger.  

My route is a keyboard scanner.  That way eventually I'll switch it to
poly-cv.  By only depending on a contact closure I can debounce the keys to
get around noise common in older pratt-reed assemblies.
