You want to look up Ralph W. Burhans' "TTL devices for Monophonic
Circuits" in the Journal of the Audio Engineering Society Dec 1972.
You could pretty much build your own 'wasp' from the article. He
discusses
Top Octave generation, frequency division, etc etc...
