Does anyone recognise this wasp?

Its an odd beast. Its definatly a deluxe, but its also definatly non-standard.

a 'proper' deluxe can be seen here:

Initially I just thought it was a deluxe that had been chopped about and abused, but now im not so sure - i think it may be more 'factory' than that.

The case, mainly.

Its made in almost exactly the same way as the deluxe. Stuff like, for instance, the way it has the irritating pcb supports which don't really work - if you were simply going to copy a deluxe case, then you wouldn't clone that sort of stuff too. And why go to all that trouble - to get a deluxe, guillotine 4 inches off the top surface, and rebuild an almost, but not quite, identically designed case, with the same flaws at the origional?

Its certainly not just got a chopped down cast though, as the bulgin (the manufacturer) battery holders are not present.

The do pcbs look identical though.

So, anyone have any ideas? Im pretty curious to know.

Julian
