If you don't need to run for a thousand years... putting the computer in a
BIG wooden box lined with acoustic foam will make it really quiet. It will
get progressively hotter. I suppose you could make one side a huge 
finned heatsink...

I did this with an old '286 (yeah not much heat there) and suspended the 
chassis
from bungee cords in an unused rack space (made of 1-1/2" particle 
board) right
next to me. Never hear a thing. OK I hear the Matrix 1000 ....   :^)
