KD,

Yeah, but he also has to figure out what the actual value should be. When he
sees that then he really knows how much he is going to be ripped off for.

2800 EUR is a high asking price for a good Synthi IMHO. It has to be very good
for that price. Even if it is components for only a few EUR, the repair-cost
will overshadow it with gross margin. If it is a simple thing, then it's more
of a in-and-out operation. Here everything has to be checked.

I'd say 1400 EUR is more reasnoble, but infact, that may be a high count too.
Just how extensive these damages are is still a bit in the dark. It could be
pretty extensive, and well, that certainly affects the value beyond being a
nice piece to look at.

In the end, this is a big betting, so anything beyond 1000 EUR needs to be
well motivated, like a evaluation from a known good tech. This could very well
be a piece of junk which will need so much repairs that even from 1000 EUR,
you can get a good piece cheaper.

The simple advice is: Stay the hell away.

The more complex advice is: Buy only damaged boxes at prices way below usual
trading prices. Your time may be cheap to you when you repair, but that time
could be better spent and you really need to compare to have it repaired by a
professional tech, which a fulltime musician would have to. If you repair it
yourself you invest that time and effort.

Then I've seen the other side, people offering boxes way to cheap. Stay the
hell away.

We have different ways of getting the message across.

Cheers,
Magnus
