2800 EUR is over the top for that state. 2800 EUR is even over the top for a
perfect unit in my opinion. At least this equation needs to be applied:
Working order sale-price - cost of repairs and associated cost of transport
= Highest possible price of defect unit
There are a few guys in the UK which can work on the Synthi, I think I can name
2 or 3 (where EMS is a natural option).
So, first consult yourself on what you would pay for a working unit, then ask
the techs what they would ask for repairing a unit of said condition and you
then know what price you should offer.
At least, that is what I would do in your situation. Then again, I would
repair it myself if I had the time. This unit is however in worse condition
than any of the units I have had on my lab-bench.
Cheers,
Magnus
