but, using the sample CDs for added Timbres? Would you not prefer to be able
to create your own sounds rather than relying on someone else to sample it
and put them on a CD?

Ahh, yes, there is always the "I could use the money for ...." factor.

I seem to remember the DX7 user guide being fairly thick.
Come to think of it, try explaining to someone who's never used a synth, how
a modular synth works, I bet you're on for a LOTR sized volume to explain it
all.

Agreed, so do I, but I also like to hear something new in the 'sound' aswell
as the melody.
