By any chance, can you take a photo of these parts? I'm not exactly sure
what you're talking about. By the way, nipples (of the pipe variety) are
short pieces of pipe with male threads on each end. Perhaps what you want
is a bulkhead fitting?
Just for the sake of trivia, I once stayed in a motel which was located
next door to a nipple factory in Wheeling, West Virginia. You can probably
imagine the jokes that inspired at the time. ;)
