Hi,
First, sorry about the double posting... I thought the first one didn't get
out.
Second... No need to respond, as I have found the problem and will be
ordering the part tonight. a 74ls04 inverter in the clock circuit had a bad
gate or two in it. I could feed it a 200Khz pulse and make it run about
like normal, but I'd like to put a new part in.
Third... Considering I'm replacing the part, I'm wondering if any of you
have advise on pulling DIP ic's out of boards which are soldered on both
sides. I think I've only salvaged one or two this way, but have damage more
than this. I'm considering just clipping the leads on the old part, and
soldering the new one either one to the leads (not good...), or bending the
pins upwards and soldering it to the bottom (might work well...). Any
suggestions in this issue?
Thanks... I'm happy to have been successful in tracking down the problem. I
just was given the keyboard and a really old eico oscillator for free. I
used one to fix the other, Synth DIY is so cool.
