[sdiy] construction of simple power bus for new modular?

Now i know this is a pretty weak question, but...
I need a power bus for my new modular. For my last one, i used stripboard
with 0.1" idc type connectors (like those found on the doepfer / AS
modulars).
The stripboard strips are not high current though. I dont know the ratings,
but i suspect the earth is not entirely within safe ratings.
Anyway, the new modular (efm and others) will have 0.156 molex style
connectors on the boards.
I have considered:
#buying prebuilt power busses from the likes of synthtec. once ive paid the
price, and gotten stung for customs on the way here, etc. etc. this will be
quite pricey
#using stripboard again, and, again, idc style connectors. the
interconnecting cables would have to have a different connector on each end,
which is no problem, but im still concerned about the current rating of
stripboard (i dont know the exact figures, but i was warned against it - on
one occasion i did manage to burn a track, but this may have been due to
some other reason, like my foolishness with something ; )
#getting plain copper board, and scraping / etching the necessary lines in
it. ive never etched stuff before, so id have to buy simple kit to do this.
oh, and drilling all those holes doesn't seem fun.
not been able to find stripboard in 0.156 pitch, else id consider this
option.
im probably not going to go for any components (capacitors / resistors etc.)
on the board, unless i find out why i should. hey, i should probably make
the effort to find out about that...
What would you do in my situation?
Thanks again,
Julian
