[sdiy] Source for center tapped pots? Anyone?

Wouldn't there be the option create your own center tap - open some poor
unsuspecting potentiometer up and put your own tap in the center position,
and figure out some effective way to bring that tap out to the real world?
Pot surgery is not unheard of.....I think 'Dr.' Haible has done it in the
past, if I'm not mistaken =-).
