None of the above is TRUE....

A center tapped pot has FOUR lugs....

The extra lug is connected to the half-way point.  If you don't
connect it to anything, it acts just like a normal THREE lug pot....

If you do connect it (to ground for instance) it allows for other
circuit arrangements not possible with a THREE lug pot....

Check the Oberheim SEM schematic and you'll see these used in a
few places....
