I saw that item on Geofex myself some time ago--actually, I think I
cloned that page from RG's site. There's definitely a way to make your
own "center-tapped" pot by removing the back cover of the pot and
getting a little bit creative with that silver conductive epoxy stuff.
I know it's also possible to make your own reverse audio taper pots,
log/antilog dual pots, etc. in the same sort of way.
I'd also recommend the "Satellite City" cyanoacrylate (super glue)
products, and the catalyst/hardener spray that they make. That product
line has really revolutionized the way I work (it's amazing what you
can do when you can get super glue to harden, water-clear, in a
fraction of a second. Custom homemade Vactrols, anyone?). You can
find those products at any good woodworking store, and I think at
hobby/model shops too.
