[sdiy] Source for center tapped pots? Anyone?

At first I guessed this to be a joke, almost all potentiometers are
center-tapped, are the not? Reading further I understand that you mean
the notch, or detent, in the pot travel. 50k values are quite popular
in stereo preamps. I frequently see deluxe Alps and Noble 50k pots on
ebay, and at times from surplus, NOS distributors.

I dislike the notch in the pot travel, because I am too conscious of it
if I need to turn a pot gradually in the center area. I prefer smooth
travel.

The State Electronics minimum of 100 pieces is not so bad. I need
hundreds of pots even now to finish current projects. I am interested
in what kind of price quote they offered.

I am alarmed about this Gizmotron business! It sounds to me that what
you are discussing is ordinary -/+v signals. I assume that however many
volts peak-to-peak are going to center at zero!
