[sdiy] which oscilloscope?

Ha... say Jim, you don't have a long lost twin brother, do you ???

I'd agree with Jim. Although I am currently using an HP scope (because
I got it broken and 'unrepairable' by their service dept)... I would prefer
a Tektronix scope.  To me, they are a little easier to work (more intuitive)

We have some HP at work I will NOT use for that reason, One of them has storage

and after an acquisition, if you touch ANY knob except the STOP button, your
last acquisition is erased. The other scopes I've used just apply the action
(such as panning
etc) to the last acquisition.  I cannot afford to lose what may have been a one
shot event
because of some idiot's idea of how a scope should operate.

That said... HP scopes are certainly capable, and some of the older models are
pretty
nice.  I'd just rather have a Tek...
