be careful of that book, there's a lot of really bad designs in it (like the
resistor divider based power supply and the sequencer that puts oute
negative steps instead of positive ones).  But there are some good ones.  A
company called micro chip still makes the 9400.  I think they're in Canada. 
If you have trouble finding them let me know and I'll poke around a bit
more.
