I know. But I can still hear, if the speaker is on the left or right
side. You tend to move you rhead all the time.
One reason why headphones can be disturbing.
With a blindfold, I can walk arround *a little* and find it. Certainly.
I did it (with low volume, so distortion does not count).
So there still is directional information, but not as good as for 
high frequencies.

Of course. They will never cancel to 0, because of the complex diffuse
room impulse response. But if you elelctrical add up two channels,
it can cancel to 0. This is a real notch. BTW: a good idea for
out of tune oscillators: do not sum up electically (without diffusion),
but sum up diffuse information. Sounds different.

Perhaps a 1x18 is cheaper. Musicians tend to go for cheapness.
(And complain about bad sound afcterwards).
