Non-audio electronic equipment belongs in synths, not automobiles. :-)
The only electronic equipment in my 1972 Mercury is the radio, and I
prefer cars that way (think: no high-powered electronic pulses can
disable them, but newer automobiles will be stopped dead in their
tracks).
Getting back on-topic, this talk of things automotive has given me a
thought for a synthesis project: synthesizing the sound of an engine
and then using that waveform shape at various frequencies for music.
Good thing that teh collector on one of my headers rusted and is now
temporarily open, so I can record a more realistic engine sound from
that little 351-Cleveland engine breathing through its 4V heads. :-)
