There seems to be a flood of them here...people who bought them
during the 60's who are now either passing away or moving into retirement
homes has basically produced a surplus of them. I acquired a Schrober
organ a few years ago that I gave away here on this list...the only
stipulation was that the person who got it had to come and get it
themselves (it weighed in at 400 pounds or so). It was either give it
away, or send it to the dump. I can't remember the name of the list member
who took it, but I sure hope it has a happy home. I hate to put stuff into
the land fill that can be made useful.

The piano I have in my house almost became one of those. My dad
was going to take it to the dump when they moved into a retirement home (it
was 105 years old, the piano, not my dad...). I took it and sunk more
money into it than it was worth to restore it. The guy who restored it
said I did a good thing, since it turned out to be quite a good piano (It
was in "basket case" condition when I got it).
