[sdiy] Maxim analog switch ICs

Does anyone know if the diodes that are used to create the virtual ground
add any significant amount of noise to the incoming signal? Do they have to
be matched or of any specific type?
This could save a few bucks if it is clean enough.

That system has been used in a variety of well known "top end"
professional mixing desks for many years, and works very well.
Typically signals would be high level (opamps running at up to ±18v)
but the CMOS switches would be run off ±5v.
They usually added another switch between the input resistor/switch
input node and 0v. This would switch on and short the signal to
ground when the signal wasn't selected. This reduces breakthrough
significantly.
