That system has been used in a variety of well known "top end"
professional mixing desks for many years, and works very well.

Typically signals would be high level (opamps running at up to ±18v)
but the CMOS switches would be run off ±5v.

They usually added another switch between the input resistor/switch
input node and 0v.   This would switch on and short the signal to
ground when the signal wasn't selected.  This reduces breakthrough
significantly.
