Did you ever try using one of the available software editor/librarians? The
very reasonably priced OB6000 (about $60US) looks fantastic, though I
haven't personally tried it.

And Midi Quest ($199US), and Midi Quest XL ($299). Both of these support
dozens of different synths (not just the M6). While XL is pretty pricey, it
is the only librarian I've seen that is also a VST plug in.

Of course, there is also Sound Diver (but this looks like it is Mac only,
right?)

There's also some links for various freeware Windows and Linux based stuff
at Synth Zone (which has several other Oberheim related links)

For me, the layout and printed description on the face of the Matrix 6
(keyboard version) make the programming a (relatively) simple task. I can
imagine this would be a very different story with an M6R stuffed into a
rack. Still, even though I have started to get the hang of programming the
M6, the more I look at the OB6000 program, the more I like it. Any reviews
or advice from the group out there?

Happy Holidays, and Peace on Earth (and neighboring planets).
