The service manual has no info on the remote jack.  No protocol, no 
baud, no nothing.  The schematics do show that the remote jack *IS* 
wired to a UART inside, but whether the ROM code does *anything* with 
this UART is a question that the service manual does not answer.

This was a disappointment with me as well and I sold my M6R, having used 
it very little.  Manipulating parameters via buttons is just too 
frustrating.
