Here's what happens when you decide to add nitrous oxide (NO2) to your car
to increase horsepower and don't know what you're doing:

I'm not really into this hot rod stuff--I needed some help from the person
who sent the link to me to completely understand the whole story--but
here's the short version: this guy bought an NO2 kit on ebay and no matter
what he tried it didn't seem to work. No difference in performance
whatsoever. So finally he got on the interstate and turned on the nitrous
for a solid minute, at which point the engine seized up. Later somebody
else took one look at the engine and pointed out that he'd run the nitrous
into the CRANKCASE! (wonder if he even took the head cover off to drill the
hole?). I assume it's supposed to go the air intake or the intake manifold
somewhere (told you I know nothing about this). That freezing cold NO2
probably turned the oil into a solid mass of goo and the camshaft seized.
Does this win some sort of prize or what?
