[sdiy] mine transformer question....

Hi DJ
There should not be a problem replacing the transformer as long as you find
one that supports the same voltages and current capacity on the secondary
winding as the original transformer did. For example if the original
transformer has 110 volts primary and 25.6 VAC @ 2 Amps center tapped
secondary and you find a transformer that has 220 volts primary and 25.6
VAC @ 2 Amps center tapped secondary you will be fine if you replace it. The
rule is this: the secondary of the replacement must match the secondary of
the original exactly or you run the risk of whacking out your synthesizer's
circuitry.

Subject: [sdiy] mine transformer question....
strange list, this is synth-diy, i'm asking as a starter if it is possible
(internally) to put a 220v transformer in a synth that has 110v and if there
are other electronics involved, no answers at all to mine question, and on a
topic that seems not to fit here, that mailbombing thing, and that gets a
lot of reaction.....is this a networking list??? strangeeeeeeeeeeeeee! thx
for the help anyway......
