Ah, but you should search a little bit more... :)
Here are a few interesting links you should check out:

http://www.mame.net
Homepage of the multiple arcade machine emulator
much faster than shockwave and over 2000 games emulated so far.
http://www.classicgaming.com/mame32/
Homepage of the windows port of MAME. This is the easiest one to install
and use.

Like most emulators, its a bit of a gray area, so you have to track down the
ROM files yourself, but a bit of searching for "mame roms" on the net will
turn up something eventually.

And last but not least:
http://arcadecontrols.speedhost.com
Lots of info on building and interfacing your own custom arcade control
panels and full arcade cabinets.

We built a gauntlet style cabinet at work with a 27" arcade monitor. It
looks great and its loads of fun. And Robotron 2048 is one of our favorite
games in the office.

Yes, you need dual arcade joysticks to play robotron, but you will find that
it is not that expensive to build.

If anyone needs tips on where to get parts for such a project, I would be
happy to help you.
