Please excuse my use of descriptive terminology here (tabs, forming rails,
etc.) Regardless, ithikn you;ll understand what I am trying to explain,
even not knowing the proper terms for these:
There are many types of Molex connectors, many types of pins for them...and
the correct crimpers for molex pins, which I think you're having your
problem with.
Please give a little more detail as type of connector you are using here (in
line, .062", .09", etc). The deal is though that molex pins are designed
so that the ends of the tabswhich wrap around the wire fold back into it
when crimped. The only thing that will do this is a crimper that is
designed to bend them back to this direction, one specifically for molex.
Mine is an el cheapo, but it's an approved model for this use. It's not
racketed however, which are the best ones, but they are real real expensive.
Mine is a YELLOW handled WALDON model W-HT1921. I think it ran me about
$14, something like that. The ends of the crimping forms are slightly heart
shaped at the center, which curls the ends of the tabs on the pins back into
and through the wire when they are crimped. If you don't use one of these,
the pins seem too long and kind of sort of wrap around the wire. Just knopw
though that this arrangement makes for a highly unreliable crimp and you
will be having problem with them forever if they are left this way.
hope this helps,
Peter

Hey Gang,
I got some 4 pin molex connectors to get my power distribution scheme in
order, but I seem to be missing something. What do you put on the wires to
get them fixed into the connector? It seems that this missing piece will
also make the connectors grip the pins more than they do now.
Thanks
Eduardo
