[sdiy] Random trigger delay?

the trick with the trigger delay is to get a 'swing'. when i use 808, linn
or 909 as master clocks, the beat counter in Cubase is all over the place,
but with a regularity. it goes from around 3-4 bpm too slow to 3-4 bpm too
fast at around 130-140 bpm. that's what makes a static synth line or beat
come alive, not just a random idea.
in my experience a machine either 'has' it or 'hasn't'..
