That allows you to turn off a voice that has hardware problems (no sound, way
out of tune, etc) - play a scale and when your ears tell you the bad voice has
been triggered, press RECORD+7 to take that voice out of the allocation
process; it remains disabled until the next power-on.  I wish all vintage
polysynths had this type of feature.
